Who does the work
Concrete work arranged through Huntsville Landmark Concrete is done by independent, locally owned and operated concrete contractors. The contractor on your job gives you the quote, does the work, and answers for its crew, its insurance, any license the job needs and any warranty it offers. When you call, that company answers under its own name.
What a good concrete job includes
Most concrete problems start underneath: a base that wasn't compacted, water with nowhere to go, joints in the wrong places. Whoever does your job, ask how they will handle these before anyone talks about color or pattern:
- The ground is checked, graded and compacted.
- The slope is planned so water runs away from the house.
- Thickness and reinforcement are matched to what the slab will carry.
- Joints are laid out before the pour.
- The new concrete is cured properly, not left to dry out in the sun.
How a job works
- Describe the project. Phone, or use the quote form to say what you'd like poured or fixed, and the rough size.
- On-site quote. A local concrete company looks at the ground and the access, then gives you a price.
- Prepare, pour and cure. The work is scheduled around the weather. Ask for clear dates for when you can walk and drive on it.
What to ask for before work starts
- A written quote listing the area, thickness, reinforcement, joints, finish, removal and cleanup.
- Proof of insurance, sent by the insurer.
- A license number where Alabama requires one. Our permits and licenses guide explains how to check it.
- Care instructions for the first weeks: when to walk, drive and seal.
- The warranty, in writing, if the contractor offers one.
Questions or feedback
If something about a job isn't right, or you have a question that isn't a quote request, use the contact form and choose "A question or feedback". Those messages are never passed on as quote requests, and every one gets read.
